Kantar Health and Lumi Win Prestigious Award for mHealth Survey Application

NEW YORK CITY, July 20, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kantar Health, a leading global healthcare consulting and market research firm, has won the award for Best Use of Mobile Technology at the MRMW Awards. The honor, presented yesterday, was won for a mobile survey application developed in partnership with Lumi Technologies that leverages the ubiquity of smartphones and innovations in mobile health (mHealth) technology to gain greater insights into the patient experience.

Best Use of Mobile Technology recognizes innovative use of mobile technology for market research. The Kantar Health and Lumi mobile app can be used to conduct short surveys, collect picture and video content, and passively collect biometric and activity data from a wide range of mHealth and wearable devices. The app allows us to combine insights from patients' experiences, such as a pain attack or a doctor/patient consultation, with insights from patient evidence, such as blood glucose, weight, mobility or blood pressure levels.

"We're completely honored to be recognized by our colleagues in the market research community with this award," said Brian Mondry, Global Head of Digital Innovation at Kantar Health. "The ability to combine data collected passively through wearable and mHealth technology with data collected actively through survey and picture/video data enables us to understand not only 'what' is going on with a patient in terms of metrics like sleep patterns, activity level and blood glucose but also 'why.' This can help our pharma industry clients understand the levers that drive consumer attitudes, behaviors and health outcomes and ultimately help them engage with consumers and patients to better manage their health."
