GTT obtains two DNV GL approvals
for G-Sim training software
Paris - July 25th, 2016. GTT Training, a GTT subsidiary dedicated to training liquefied natural gas (LNG) professionals and to the development of associated simulation tools, has obtained two approvals for G-Sim training software from DNVGL in accordance with their standard for Maritime Simulator Systems. This standard specifies the requirements of simulators that are to be used to deliver training to the shipping industry in accordance with the STCW[1] convention requirements.
The G-Sim software and the LNG Carrier models have received the Type A 'Full Mission' approval, the highest level of compliance in the field of maritime simulation systems. This classification means that G-Sim can provide full environmental realism for simulating the complete liquid cargo handling and auxiliary systems for the vessels defined, so allowing it to be used to provide training in any aspect of cargo handling operations to ensure operations are undertaken effectively, efficiently and with complete regard to maintaining safety throughout.
Being a new area of simulation where the specific requirements have yet to be defined, the LNG Bunkering Simulator has also received the Type S (Special Tasks) approval classification. Providing similar level of functionality to the LNG Carrier model, the model is specifically related to the simulation of LNG Bunkering operations. The G-Sim LNG Bunkering package is the first system of its type to receive such an approval.

The G-Sim software currently provides the operator with a total of 12 possible vessel configurations (depending on tank capacity, containment system and propulsion system) to meet different potential situations likely to be encountered by the crew. It is also used to provide practical training in real time on the methods and procedures to successfully perform any of the operations that may be conducted on LNG vessels related to the handling and management of the cargos.
Entirely designed by GTT Training, G-Sim is the reference platform for the training of gas officers.

GTT obtient deux approbations de DNV GL
pour le logiciel de formation G-Sim
Paris - 25 juillet 2016. GTT Training, filiale de GTT dédiée à la formation des professionnels du gaz naturel liquéfié (GNL) et au développement des outils de simulation associés, a obtenu deux approbations de la société de classification DNV GL pour le logiciel de formation G-Sim. Ce dernier a été évalué selon les normes établies en matière de simulateurs dédiés à l'industrie maritime. Elles répondent aux critères définis par la convention STCW[1] pour les simulateurs spécialement utilisés dans le cadre de la formation des acteurs de l'industrie maritime.
Le logiciel G-Sim a obtenu l'approbation de Classe A « Full Mission » pour sa configuration méthaniers. Il s'agit du niveau de conformité le plus élevé dans le domaine des systèmes de simulation dédiés à l'industrie maritime. Cette classification signifie que G-Sim peut simuler avec réalisme l'ensemble des opérations de maintenance de la cargaison liquide à bord d'un méthanier et des systèmes annexes du navire. G-Sim peut donc être utilisé dans le cadre d'une formation sur tous types d'opérations de maintenance destinée à garantir un niveau élevé de fiabilité, d'efficacité, et de sécurité tout au long des différentes manoeuvres.
La simulation des opérations de soutage ne faisant pas encore l'objet de normes spécifiques, la configuration de la barge GNL G-Sim a obtenu une approbation particulière de Classe S (opérations spéciales). Cette configuration a le même niveau de fonctionnalité que celle destinée aux méthaniers. Le logiciel de formation G-Sim est le premier simulateur d'opérations de soutage à obtenir une telle approbation.

Le logiciel G-Sim propose aux opérateurs une douzaine de configurations de navires (en fonction de la capacité du réservoir, du système de confinement et du système de propulsion) pour répondre aux différentes situations potentielles auxquelles doit faire face l'équipage. Utilisé pour offrir une formation pratique, en temps réel, sur les méthodes et les procédures à suivre pour entreprendre avec succès tous types d'opérations liées à la cargaison de GNL, G-Sim offre une simulation complète de tous les systèmes à bord prévus pour la gestion, la manutention de la cargaison du GNL et le bon entretien du navire. Entièrement conçue par GTT Training, G-Sim constitue la plateforme de formation de référence pour les officiers gaz.
