Ilani Wins Vancouver Business Journal's Top Project 2016 Award

LA CENTER, WA--(Marketwired - Jul 28, 2016) - Ilani, a $500 million entertainment and meeting facility currently under construction in La Center, Washington, has received the Vancouver Business Journal's Top Project 2016 Award for the leading construction project in the region. Ilani, scheduled to open Spring 2017, was awarded top honors for the Top Commercial Project Award and the Top Project 2016 Award. The journal's editor, Nicholas Shanmac, presented the awards to Ilani leadership on July 27 at the 12th Annual Top Projects Awards ceremony, where more than 275 local business leaders and guests attended the ceremony and had the opportunity to tour the construction site during the evening's events.

"We are honored to be recognized as this year's leading commercial construction project in Southwest Washington," said Kara Fox-LaRose, general manager and president of Ilani. "At the core of our success is the leadership and expertise of our project partners and the support of the local community."

Upon opening, the destination will be among the top ten largest employers in Clark County, bringing more than 1,000 new jobs to Southwest Washington and $40 million in revenue opportunities for local businesses. The interior and exterior design of the facility was led by The Friedmutter Group, an award-winning architecture, design and master planning firm that specializes in mixed use entertainment facilities. The project complements the landscape that surrounds it and features design elements that represent the Pacific Northwest.

Now nearly 50 percent complete, the construction of the facility currently employees 250 construction workers and is being led by Swinerton Builders, a general contracting and project management firm with offices throughout the Pacific Northwest. The project also includes an interchange improvement project, a $32 million private investment to overhaul and improve the interchange on I-5 at Exit 16 led by Kittleson & Associates, and a $15 million state-of-the-art, onsite water reclamation system designed by Parametrix Inc.
