Condor Airlines Increases US Destinations to Eleven, Adding Transatlantic Flights to New Orleans and San Diego

Condor Airlines Increases Its Footprint in the USA From 28 Nonstop Flights to Germany in 2016 to 38 in 2017

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Aug 8, 2016) - Condor Airlines will continue to expand its flight services from the USA in Summer of 2017. With new direct service from San Diego (SAN) and New Orleans (MSY) to Frankfurt, Germany, Condor will be flying from a total of 11 US-based destinations.

New: San Diego (SAN) to Frankfurt three times weekly between May 5 - October 5, 2017
New: New Orleans (MSY) to Frankfurt twice weekly between May 3 - October 4, 2017
New: Seattle (SEA) year round nonstop service to Frankfurt following summer 2016
New: Seattle (SEA) to Munich twice weekly between July 5 - October 29, 2017
New: Las Vegas (LAS) to Munich twice weekly between May 3 - October 29, 2017

North America is a very important market for Condor Airlines and the increase in flights between the US and Germany is proof that customers take advantage of nonstop flights from smaller airports rather than going through bigger hubs.

Currently Condor flies from Las Vegas five times a week to Frankfurt; beginning next Summer, it will also connect Munich to Las Vegas with two direct flights. "We are delighted that Condor has announced direct service from Munich to Las Vegas," said Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. "Condor's new route will offer additional convenience and flexibility for international travelers. Germany is our greatest source of international visitation from continental Europe, with more than 200,000 travelers annually. This new route further reinforces the opportunity for ongoing growth throughout that region."

In addition to flying year-round between Frankfurt and Seattle, Condor will also add nonstop service from the Pacific Northwest to Bavaria's capital of Munich, allowing North American Tourists to fly directly to Munich to dive right into Bavarian Gemütlichkeit. The real Oktoberfest has never been this close.

"The North American market is very interesting for us and therefore we are delighted to expand our flight services in the upcoming summer. The flights will be operated on a Boeing 767-300, which is equipped with Economy, Premium, and a comfortable Business Class which invites our guests to relax," adds Jens Boyd, Group Head of Long Haul at Condor.

Another highlight is the new launch of nonstop flights from New Orleans to Condor's hub in Frankfurt, Germany in Summer 2017. Additionally, Condor will be adding San Diego with three weekly flights to its flight plan in the Summer of 2017, while New Orleans will receive two weekly flights to Frankfurt.

Passengers flying to Frankfurt or Munich can take advantage of Condor's large network of interline partnerships which allow passengers to conveniently connect to any major German or European city.

Condor Flugdienst GmbH has been flying its guests to the most beautiful holiday destinations in the world since 1956. This year Condor is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The traditional airline is a 100 percent subsidiary of Thomas Cook GmbH. On an annual basis, more than seven million passengers fly with Condor to about 75 destinations in Europe, America, Africa and Asia. The route network of the holiday airline includes over 230 destinations through cooperations with airlines in the destination areas. Condor was merged with the airlines Thomas Cook Airlines UK, Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium and Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia in October 2013, to form the Thomas Cook Group Airlines. All companies within the Thomas Cook Group plc. are united under a common symbol: The Sunny Heart. To express their common identity, the aircraft of the Thomas Cook Group Airlines show the sunny heart on their aircraft trails. The sunny heart also shows that Condor is putting its heart into every flight. The fleet of the Thomas Cook Group is comprised of 95 modern and environmentally friendly aircraft, of which 45 aircraft are from the Condor fleet: nine Airbus A320s, seven Airbus A321s, thirteen Boeing 757-300s and sixteen Boeing 767-300s. The aircraft are maintained by the airlines' own technical companies. The holiday airline has won numerous awards in recent years, including the award for "Service Champion 2015" in the Gold Category. The study was carried out by "Die Welt" from Service Value GmbH on behalf of the newspaper.
