eSilicon to Present at Cadence CDNLive Boston 2016 Conference

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - August 24, 2016) - eSilicon, a leading semiconductor design and manufacturing solutions provider, will present at the CDNLive Boston 2016 Conference in Burlington, MA.

What:
eSilicon will present Adaptive Power Management of a Complex SOC Using Innovus and Voltus Tools.

In this paper, we describe the benefit of using Innovus and Voltus in implementing an SoC with 50 million gates of core logic and four levels of hierarchy. This paper provides data on current flow. We also discuss the advantage of using Innovus ILMs to enable the hierarchical blocks, power domains and correct placement of the PVT monitors. We also demonstrate how the tool helped us in meeting our tight schedule. Robustness of the tool was one of the critical factors that helped us achieve the tight turn-around time. We use Voltus to accurately predict IR drop and power estimation early in the project within 5 percent of the final consumption after the whole implementation process from RTL, DFT insertion, placement and routing in all relevant corners. In this SoC, we also use eSilicon's AVS soft IP that can perform either static voltage scaling, through hardware or software programming, or adaptive voltage scaling. When running in adaptive mode, the AVS IP detects when a PVT condition gets out from the window of operation and, based on a PID control loop, it boosts or reduces the voltage to have the least consumption within working margins.
