New Lexile Tool Used for Content Development by Growing Number of Education Companies

Industry Leading Companies Use Lexile Analyzer Editor Assistant to Develop Leveled Text

DURHAM, NC--(Marketwired - September 08, 2016) - MetaMetrics®, developer of the widely adopted Lexile® Framework for Reading, is pleased to announce the expansion of their partnerships with McGraw-Hill Education and National Geographic School Publishing to include the use of the newly available Lexile Analyzer® Editor Assistant™. The Lexile Analyzer Editor Assistant provides a fast and efficient way to develop text at specific reading levels. McGraw-Hill Education and National Geographic School Publishing join other education companies already using the tool, including NCS Pearson, Time for Kids, Kids Discover and News-O-Matic.

The Lexile Analyzer Editor Assistant is used to determine the Lexile® measure of a particular text along with providing access to important characteristics of the text. The tool enables users to rewrite and edit text directly within the platform while receiving Lexile measures on demand. Additionally, users can view revision history and collaborate with colleagues through the document management system which facilitates file sharing and category tagging between users.

MetaMetrics developed the Lexile Analyzer Editor Assistant in response to rising demands to produce text to specific reading levels. It is offered as an add-on subscription to the existing Lexile Analyzer®. Features of the Lexile Analyzer Editor Assistant include an enhanced interface that allows users to combine the Lexile Analyzer with working documents for quick and easy analysis of text.

The Lexile Analyzer first became available for public use in 1998. Since then, more than 450,000 educators, researchers and education companies have registered to use the Lexile Analyzer. Publishers can also use MetaMetrics' resource measurement service to receive certified Lexile measures that can then be reported in databases, catalogs and other public domains.

"As personalized learning has become the norm and expectation in the digital world, there is an increasing need to develop and provide texts at different reading levels," said Malbert Smith, Ph.D., CEO, President and Co-Founder of MetaMetrics. "We are excited to offer a tool with the means to do that quickly and easily."

The Lexile Framework is a scientific way to match readers with text using the same scale. Recognized as the most widely used reading measure, Lexile measures help readers improve literacy skills by selecting materials that match their unique reading levels. A variety of tools can be licensed from MetaMetrics to enhance the usage of the Lexile Framework, including the Lexile Analyzer Editor Assistant, PowerV, the Lexile® Titles Database and the Lexile® Career Database.

Companies interested in licensing the Lexile Analyzer Editor Assistant or obtaining certified Lexile measures for their texts should contact Emily Weller, Manager of Strategic Partnerships, at 919-547-3452 or eweller@lexile.com.
