Scheduled for Arrival: FuelRod Mobile Charging Service to Land at Houston Bush and Hobby Airports

Innovative Mobile Device Charging Service Will Free Travelers to Experience Airport Amenities

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - September 23, 2016) - Tricopian, a San Diego, California-based developer of the innovative FuelRod mobile device charger, announces that its FuelRod SwapBox™ kiosks will be available in October 2016 throughout George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU) airports. Houston travelers will be able to experience all of the services these airports offer without the worry of having to find an available electrical outlet to keep their mobile phones, tablets and USB devices charged.

Eleven FuelRod SwapBox kiosks will be located throughout IAH and five at HOU. The innovative self-serve kiosks provide travelers with a fully-charged, grab-and-go charger kit to recharge their mobile devices.

Instead of searching the airport for an available electrical outlet or stationary charging station, mobile device users will be able to purchase a FuelRod charging kit complete with cables and adaptors at the bright green FuelRod kiosks. The rechargeable FuelRods are small portable batteries that deliver up to eight hours of talk time for an Apple® or Android™ smartphone or nearly four hours of usage for a tablet.

Priced at just $20, each FuelRod kit includes connectors for Apple-based and most Android devices as well as many compact cameras. Once used, the FuelRod battery can be recharged using any standard USB outlet or it can be quickly swapped at any FuelRod SwapBox kiosk in the U.S and Europe for a fresh, fully fueled, ready-to-use charger.

"Today's passenger is constantly exploring new ways in which technology can help to facilitate a smoother overall travel experience," said Randy Goodman, director of concessions for Houston Airports. "But those technological tools are dependent on a strong and readily available power supply. We believe that the FuelRod mobile charging service represents a key step in ensuring that this demand is being met at Houston Airports."

"We're very excited about our first installation in Texas," said Joe Yeagley, Tricopian co-founder. "FuelRod is now the fastest growing mobile charging service being deployed in airports today. We look forward to our continued rapid growth here in the U.S. and abroad."
