New Mobile Game, “RompNStomp,” Blends Arcade-style Entertainment with Mind-Challenging Strategic Fun

SENECA, S.C., Nov. 03, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Poly Want A Pixel Studios released a unique mobile game, “RompNStomp” today. It’s an addicting, highly visual stomp-fest that’s chock full of constant action and conundrums. Players must lead a pony-tailed toddler, Miss Maddy, as she crushes bugs and pests that are intent on stealing her stash of candy. They guide Maddy to several push toys and power drinks that she can unlock as boosts. The challenge is to help her obtain points and sugar cubes, while also protecting her candy.

“RompNStomp” is available for free on iOs and Android mobile devices and is suitable for anyone over the age of ten. Players do not need an internet connection to play.

Poly Want A Pixel Studios lead programmer David Hyde-Volpe, said, “The atmospheric music, quirky sound effects and the bold art make this game really unique. ‘RompNStomp’ is a compelling adventure that players love!"

Game Strategy
Spawners, like ant hills and food boxes, generate a swath of enemies – from ants to squirrels. The player has to decide which enemy spawners to leave on the screen to collect points and which ones to destroy. Power-ups – including soda-can sugar rushes, bug bombs and push toys – are randomly generated depending on the player's kills. Power boosts can also be purchased (but are not necessary to play the game) with sugar cubes; however, this deducts points from the player’s score.

Modes of Play

  • Story mode: A gradual increase in difficulty that compiles scores and progress.
  • Arcade mode: An onslaught of chaos for single-play high scores.
