Certify Introduces New User Experience to Further Simplify T&E Expense Reporting

Extensive user research and design exploration yield actionable insights to optimize the online Certify user experience

PORTLAND, ME--(Marketwired - November 08, 2016) - Leading automated travel and entertainment expense management software provider Certify, today announced the general availability of its new web-based user experience. This important release is the result of 18 months of research and collaboration between a top-tier UX design firm and Certify's in-house design team. Guided by defined user personas developed through this effort, the new Certify user experience offers a clean, modern interface that prioritizes key information and expense reporting workflows. In addition, new Certify users can start using the system with little to no training, due in part to the thousands of hours spent evaluating and applying best practices in UX and UI design.

Certify first rolled out its new user experience to existing customers in October this year. During this period, users had the unique opportunity to switch back and forth between the old and new interfaces while providing real-time feedback about their experience. These customer comments allowed Certify to continue to refine its new user experience, delivering a solution that further streamlines and simplifies the expense management process for every Certify user.

"The most important part of any UX design is user persona definitions," said Certify Chief Technology Officer and co-founder, Alan Neveu. "Our research and analysis identified four personas that account for 95 percent of Certify end users. Optimizing the layout and workflows for these personas allowed us to be sure we have designed a winning system, rather than just applying stylistic or artistic changes. Getting the user experience right is about research, analysis and best practices, and with this update we are excited to continue to deliver on the promise of travel and expense made easy."

Users will notice changes affecting both the Certify homepage and throughout the web application. The new homepage intuitively guides users towards an optimal workflow and emphasizes actionable content, while highlighting necessary actions to be taken by users in any role. It also makes creating and submitting expense reports even easier with one click of the prominent "New Expense Report" button.

The Certify Wallet also received a major interface update, enabling it to more clearly communicate its contents. Users will now be able to see the three most recent transactions displayed on their homepage including date, amount and other information. This makes it simple for users to quickly review which receipts and expenses have been added to their Certify Wallet directly from the homepage. An additional feature of the new Certify Wallet is its easy-to-view expense details that can be sorted by date, amount, category, vendor, and more.

Certify was recently recognized as the leading expense management solution for usability among 17 T&E software vendors by independent user review site G2 Crowd. The new Certify user experience builds upon the success of the Certify platform to make it even easier to use for administrators, employees and accountants.
