Bideawee joins with Helen Woodward Animal Center to promote Home4theHolidays Pet Adoption Drive

~Over 4K shelters involved across the US. Goal is happy homes for 1 million cats and dogs~

NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bideawee, a leading pet welfare organization serving metropolitan New York and Long Island for the past 113 years, is partnering with the Helen Woodward Animal Center to promote companion animal adoption during this holiday season.  This year’s campaign kicked off in October 2016 and will run through January 2, 2017.

“Home4theHolidays is an effort to increase adoptions of dogs and cats across the country,” says Jennifer Goodwin, Vice President for Development at Bideawee. “Last year over 200 pets were adopted from Bideawee during the holiday season.  This year, as of the date of this release, over 386,000 animals have been adopted with a goal of reaching 1 million pets adopted by January 2, 2017.  Our goal at Bideawee this year is to find homes for 250 pets during the 2016 holiday season.”

Many people choose to adopt or to give puppies and kittens as gifts for the holidays.  Bideawee is dedicated to ensuring successful, forever-families for pets through both adoption and responsible gifting of companion animals.  Bideawee prizes compatibility between pets and their pet families.  Bideawee Matchmakers use information provided by potential pet families about habits and lifestyle and match them with the behavior, activity level and personalities of the pets in their Adoption Centers in Manhattan and Westhampton, Long Island.  Due to the familiarity that all Bideawee Matchmakers have with available pets they are able to work with potential adopters to make a perfect match that will last a lifetime.
