Southcoast Health Invests with Velocity Solutions to Optimize IT

Velocity positions Southcoast Health for improved quality of service with reduced cost to achieve population health and employee work-life objectives

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 28, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Velocity Technology Solutions, Inc., a global leader in enterprise application cloud managed services, announced it will manage SouthCoast Health’s PeopleSoft applications.

Serving 33 communities throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Southcoast Health is an 851-bed hospital system spanning four hospitals offering an integrated continuum of health services. Having made significant investments in the PeopleSoft 9.2 FSCM platform, along with clinical care application enhancements, Southcoast Health CIO Jim Feen recognized a technical and functional knowledge gap surrounding the application and partnered with Velocity to augment the full-time Southcoast Health employees who are focused on PeopleSoft, HCM and Kronos to support and maximize recent investments.

“At Southcoast Health, we are committed to an IT service model that aligns our employed IT staff to partner with our clinical and business operations,” says Feen. “Partnering with Velocity to manage our PeopleSoft application platform enables us to deliver best practices and accelerates the system optimization process that is needed to offer our care providers and employees the tools required to make their workday as efficient as possible.”

"Southcoast Health’s hospitals have been serving their communities since the late 1800s,” said Lori Ridgeway, Vice President of the PeopleSoft Business for Velocity Technology Solutions. "Velocity’s application expertise helps Southcoast Health deliver superior care more effectively to their patients while optimizing their employees’ application experience.”

“Go-lives are only the beginning, setting the stage for continuous efficiency and innovation efforts,” said Feen. “With Velocity, we have access to the right expertise at the right time. The scalable support for our PeopleSoft applications and our teams has positioned Southcoast Health to take full advantage of our new platform. This will help us in our continuous effort to drive down costs, while keeping our focus on what matters most — providing excellent care for the patients in our community.”

Velocity Technology Solutions is an Oracle Platinum Partner and has been listed in both the 2015 and 2016 Gartner Market Guide for Cloud Service Providers for Healthcare Delivery Organizations, as was also listed as one of six cloud service providers in the recent Gartner research note, “Healthcare Providers: It is Time to Trust Cloud Service Providers as Partners.”
