Lea to Serve as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) for Big Data Analytics Leader; Drive Global Expansion of Visual Analytics in the Enterprise

SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Arcadia Data, provider of the first native visual analytics software for big data, today announced the appointment of Randy Lea to its executive management team. In his role as chief revenue officer, Lea will focus on furthering the company’s strong sales momentum as it solves big data analytics challenges for its customers. His leadership will be instrumental to Arcadia Data as it continues to help enterprises deploy self-service business intelligence (BI) and visual analytics by connecting business users to big data.

Lea brings unique experience to the Arcadia Data executive team in the form of prior leadership positions across sales and sales support, product marketing and product management, business development, partnerships, and also business and data science consulting at both startups and large companies. As the Sales Vice President at Aster Data, Lea managed the sales and professional services organization for the Aster Analytics platform and helped grow the business by a factor of seven. Lea also led the open source consulting organization for the Americas at Think Big Analytics, where he concentrated on improving business processes and increasing business value for customers facing big data analytics challenges.

Arcadia Data represents the future of scalable, modern BI. Its keen vision and tenacious ability to innovate within an industry that is hungry for big data analytics solutions that solve real data problems is impressive,” said Lea. “The company’s modern architecture for big data, cloud, and streaming analytics is a valuable solution for any enterprise attempting to innovate with analytics across the enterprise. I’m excited to join this impressive team that has evolved to deliver a modern architecture that derives useful information from analyzing all data, all the time, which is inevitable for digital transformation and IoT.”

Most recently, Lea led the business consulting organization for the Americas at Teradata, where he focused on enabling business value through technology differentiation and analytic innovation with leading brands. As the first organization to enable enterprise-scale analytics on all structured data, Teradata provided Lea with the ultimate background for understanding how modern data analytics platforms must evolve to meet the demands of today’s dynamic market and business requirements.

The world of analytics is rapidly evolving, and the demand for our technology across global enterprises is impressively expanding within it. With an undeniably strong pedigree of industry expertise and invaluable leadership experience, Lea is a welcomed addition to the Arcadia Data team,” said Sushil Thomas, co-founder and CEO, Arcadia Data.
