Global Geoscience Appoints Senior Executive to Manage Rhyolite Ridge Lithium‐Boron Project

NORTH SYDNEY, Australia, Nov. 27, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Australian‐based mineral explorer and developer Global Geoscience Limited (“Global” or the “Company”) (ASX:GSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Matt Weaver as its inaugural Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations, after an extensive four‐month global search process with the assistance of Spencer Stuart.

Mr. Weaver will manage all engineering and operational aspects of the Company’s flagship Rhyolite Ridge Lithium‐Boron Project in Nevada and will be responsible for delivering the project through the feasibility and developmental phases and into full commercial production.  He is based in the USA and will work out of the Company’s Reno, Nevada office.

Mr. Weaver is a 30‐year mining industry veteran with a wealth of experience in project development, execution and operation. His expertise includes mining, concentrating, smelting and power generation. He has worked on projects ranging from hundreds of millions of dollars to several billion dollars and has wide experience developing mines from the feasibility stage into production.

His extensive experience in sulphuric acid production, associated power generation and acid‐leach processing will be of great benefit to the Rhyolite Ridge project where the large, shallow deposit is amenable to low‐cost mining and simple acid‐leach processing.

During three decades’ experience in the mining industry, Mr. Weaver has worked on both small and large‐scale development projects at BHP, Rio Tinto and Newmont, as well as for several smaller mining companies.

Mr. Weaver is a graduate from the prestigious Colorado School of Mines and he also holds an MBA. A significant portion of his career has been spent working in south‐western USA and he has also worked in Canada, Australia and West Africa.

Global Geoscience’s Managing Director, Bernard Rowe commented: “We are delighted to announce Matt Weaver’s appointment and welcome the wealth of industry experience and judgement he brings to the Company. Matt will manage operations in Nevada and will continue to build on our world class technical team tasked with transforming the Company into a leading supplier to the lithium and boron markets.

“We will soon release the outcomes of our mining study based on the recently upgraded resource, as well as key metallurgical testwork aimed at selecting the preferred processing route. This work will feed into the Pre‐Feasibility being conducted on this unique lithium‐boron resource.”

Global Geoscience’s Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations, Matt Weaver commented: “Joining Global Geoscience at this early stage of project development is a great fit with my skill set and experience. The unique nature of the Rhyolite Ridge resource provides a terrific opportunity for me to help realise its potential to be a long‐life and low‐cost producer of lithium and boron."
