Essential History Expeditions Announces 2018 Historic Site Group Tours Schedule

Highlights Include 100 Year Anniversary of WWI, Historical Vietnam, D-Day and Gettysburg


DENVER, Dec. 19, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Essential History Expeditions, an adventure-based group tour company, announced today their 2018 schedule for exceptional educational historic site expeditions. Group tours include Vietnam, WWII Normandy, WWI France and Civil War Gettysburg.

For four years LTC (Ret.) Brian DeToy, PhD and his wife, Sheryl Rankin Shafer, have been developing, coordinating and leading history-themed tours around the world. Vietnam - April 16-29 - From the former southern capital of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) through the central highlands and coast through Danang and Hoi An and on to Hue before culminating in Hanoi and the incomparable Halong Bay. This trip will combine the incredible culture of today’s Vietnam with visits to critical battle sites during America’s engagement in the Vietnam War.

Normandy, France - June 24-29 - D-Day historical sites from the beaches at Bloody Omaha; American paratroopers jumping behind enemy lines at Ste Mere Eglise and Brecourt Manor to the Rangers climbing the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc to the building of the artificial harbors at Arromanches. Cultural immersion through the cities and countryside of Normandy, including the Bayeux Tapestry, castles, cathedrals and Mont St. Michel.
