Brain Corp CEO Dr. Eugene Izhikevich to Speak at CONNECT

AI and robotics company co-founder to share insight into how entrepreneurs can secure investor funding

San Diego, April 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brain Corp, an AI company specializing in the development of self-driving technology for robots, announced today its chief executive officer and co-founder, world-renowned computational neuroscientist Dr. Eugene Izhikevich, will speak at CONNECT’s All Talk program. The All Talk program will take place at DeskHub in Little Italy, San Diego.

The All Talk: Successes in a Challenging Funding Environment panel will take place on April 17 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The panelists will share their unique stories including how they secured their first round of funding; challenges they faced at each stage; what surprised them about the process; how they view funding, valuation, and dilution of shares; what they’ve been able to accomplish with the funding received; and more.

“The ability to secure funding and establish strategic partnerships are often the greatest challenges faced by entrepreneurs, yet both these elements are critical to maintaining growth and taking a company to the next level,” said Dr. Eugene Izhikevich, CEO and co-founder of Brain Corp. “Attracting prominent investors was a process I hope to simplify for other entrepreneurs by sharing what I’ve learned throughout my own journey with Brain Corp, from securing the company’s first institutional investor, Qualcomm Ventures, to obtaining our recent $114 million funding round led by the SoftBank Vision Fund.”

The panel will be moderated by Steve Hoey, VP of Springboard and Innovation Research at CONNECT. Additional panel speakers include Daniel Magy, Founder of Citadel Defense Company; Jose Morachis, CEO of NanoCellect Biomedical; and Camille Newton, Founder of PureWick.
