MT LAUREL, NJ, April 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Last week, NFL Alumni (NFLA) officially added three new board members: Former Pro Bowl quarterback, Jim Everett, former Eagles defensive end, Lem Burnham, and former Saints running back, Lynell Hamilton. Each person will serve for a three-year term.
“These men together represent the changing face of NFLA’s membership,” said Elvis Gooden, CEO, NFLA. “Their range in age, location, and backgrounds will allow the organization to be more relevant to a wider range of member groups. In addition, each man’s impressive resume will add an additional level of cache to our already prestigious board.”
Jim Everett (Rams 1986-93; Saints 1994-1996; Chargers 1997) – After retiring as a Pro Bowl quarterback, Everett settled in southern California. He received an MBA degree from Pepperdine University and started his own asset management business, which he ran for 14 years. Everett now provides pregame and team analysis for the LA Rams.
Lem Burnham (Eagles 1977-1981) – Following his football career, Burnham worked as the team psychologist for the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia 76ers, and Baltimore Orioles. Burnham is the author of multiple books including Personality in Group: Group Relevant Personality and Sociometric Status and Beyond X’s and O’s. He currently provides sports psychology services to professional athletes through ProWorldAthletes, Inc.
Lynell Hamilton (Saints 2008-2010) – After his football career, Hamilton was a college and professional football coach. He later founded Fast Play Athletics, a nationwide forum for current and former professional athletes to present themselves as coaches, emphasizing their expertise in various positions. Hamilton is now active in real estate and small business development.
Everett, Burnham, and Hamilton were elected to office during a separate meeting this past March. The three men were officially sworn into office during the President’s Meeting within NFLA’s 51st Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. In attendance at the meeting were representatives from the 35 local Alumni chapters, along with key Alumni sponsors, partners, and presenters.
NFLA operates with three boards: a Charity/Foundation Board, an Advocacy/Association Board, and a five-member Joint Board.
Effective immediately, the five-member Joint Board includes Ron Jaworski, Al Smith, Beasley Reece, Mark Collins, and Ron Rice.
The Charity/Foundation Board members are Al Smith (Chairman), Erron Kinney, Ricardo McDonald, Mark Collins Jim Everett, and Lynell Mitchell.
The Advocacy Board members include Ron Rice (Chairman), Tracy Porter, John Haines, Andrew Bolton, and Lem Burnham.
