inWhatLanguage CEO Reveals Vision for Social Change and Impact at 2018 Association of Language Companies Conference

SALT LAKE CITY and SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., April 26, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- inWhatLanguage, a leading localization and translation technology provider, is sharing insights into their successful ‘capitalism for cause’ social impact initiative at the upcoming 2018 Association of Language Companies (ALC) Conference, taking place in Scottsdale, Arizona, Wednesday, April 25 through Saturday, April 28. inWhatLanguage will unveil their Impact Linguist Micro-Grant program, which empowers translators to create change in their local communities.

CEO of inWhatLanguage Cody Broderick will explain how his organization is utilizing one percent of all revenues to affect global change in his presentation at the 2018 ALC Conference session titled ‘Unifying a Global Community Through Impact’ on Thursday, April 26.

The inWhatLanguage Impact initiative provides tens of thousands of dollars in translation services every year primarily for the translation of critical documentation, English language learning programs, digital media, websites and content for non-profits, NGOs, schools, trade and global health organizations.

“We started inWhatLanguage Impact to save, change and improve lives by breaking the cultural barriers that exist because of languages,” said Cody Broderick, CEO, and founder at inWhatLanguage.  “I am very proud of the translation services we provide to vital health and trade organizations, along with support to crisis-affected communities around the world. We’ve been making huge strides in helping English language learners across the US with our recent grants to 13 educational institutions. We have just started to make a dent in the world and we plan to do so much more, as we continue to grow.”

During the ALC Conference, inWhatLanguage will detail how they use language services for a greater purpose in unifying communities as demonstrated through three social impact case studies. Broderick will highlight how the company helped diverse communities foster trust and mutual understanding by increasing their access to critical information. He will also showcase how the combination of UNIFY, the company’s translation management technology, and valued-networks of human linguists and translators empowers everyone to use profits for a purpose and change lives.

“Our social impact initiatives include four main pillars:  English language learners, assisting disaster and crisis-affected communities, fostering international trade and diplomacy, and engaging and supporting our linguist network,” said Douglas Simpson, social impact manager at inWhatLanguage.

To drive social impact through the translator community, inWhatLanguage will announce at the 2018 ALC event a new 2018 Linguist Community Impact Micro-Grant Program, available to all translators and users of the UNIFY cloud-based translation management system. The initiative will provide small cash grants for projects that deliver meaningful change and impact at the local level. UNIFY is a free translation management system offered to all customers and qualified linguists working with inWhatLanguage.

Maurice van Zutphen, an experienced leader in operations and supply chain management at inWhatLanguage, will share valuable tips for language freelancers and small translation companies on how to get noticed by larger language service providers. He will speak at the 2018 ALC Conference on Friday, April 27.  Zutphen will help language service professionals with tips for successfully marketing their skills, capabilities, quality standards, and availability to LSPs.

The Association of Language Companies (ALC) is a national trade association representing businesses that provide translation, interpretation, localization, and language training services.
