With the SimpliSafe Home Control skill for Amazon Alexa, customers can now use SimpliSafe’s newest system and an Alexa-enabled device for easy voice control of SimpliSafe security features.
SimpliSafe customers can now ask Amazon Alexa to arm their security systems in either Home or Away mode. They can also check on the status of their security system using various voice commands simply by asking Alexa.

How To Use
Everyone heading out the door for work and school? SimpliSafe customers can now say "Alexa, tell SimpliSafe I'm leaving" and it will arm the all new SimpliSafe in away mode, activating every sensor for the day.
SimpliSafe Away mode voice commands include:
- “Alexa, tell SimpliSafe to turn on.”
- “Alexa, ask SimpliSafe to arm my system in Away mode.”
- “Alexa, tell SimpliSafe I’m going out.”
- “Alexa, tell SimpliSafe I’m leaving.”
When everyone is turning in for the night, a simple, “Alexa, tell SimpliSafe goodnight” will ensure the all new SimpliSafe gets armed in Home mode, protecting your doors and windows, closing your camera shutter for privacy, and setting any integrated smart locks into lock mode.
SimpliSafe Home mode voice commands include:
- “Alexa, ask SimpliSafe to arm my system in Home mode.”
- “Alexa, tell SimpliSafe to lock up.”
- “Alexa, tell SimpliSafe goodnight.”
To check in on the status of their home security system, customers can use the following commands:
- “Alexa, ask SimpliSafe if my home is secure.”
- “Alexa, ask SimpliSafe if I am protected.”
- “Alexa, ask SimpliSafe for my current status.”
- “Alexa, ask SimpliSafe what's shakin'.”
Compatibility
To connect, customers must enable the SimpliSafe skill in the Amazon Alexa app or through the Alexa Skills store at www.amazon.com/skills. Then customers can log into the SimpliSafe app and select their SimpliSafe location if they use more than one. This skill is only compatible with the all new SimpliSafe and requires an active SimpliSafe interactive monitoring plan.
The all new SimpliSafe launched earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and this integration comes shortly after SimpliSafe announced an integration with August Smart Lock earlier this month. In 2018, SimpliSafe plans to release a video doorbell, outdoor cameras and a smart lock.
