ALPHARETTA, Ga., May 07, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bright Light Systems (BLS), the leading manufacturer of energy-efficient LED luminaires and wireless lighting controls for marine port terminals, will supply high-mast LED lighting along with the Bright Light Management System (BLMS) software to Nassau Container Port. The container terminal is located on Arawak Cay, just two miles west of Downtown Nassau at the mouth of Nassau Harbor. The Port is strategically located to handle shipping of cargo to and from the Caribbean and offers facilities for both domestic and international bulk, break bulk, container and project cargo customers.

BLS will retrofit the existing 1000 watt metal halide high-mast lights in the 56-acre terminal with approximately 150 NOVA HM series LED lights with wireless sensors and controls. After the retrofit is completed, the LED lights will reduce energy consumption by over 50% while streamlining nighttime operations with higher illuminance levels, greater coverage, and less glare for surrounding communities.
Nassau Container Port will also utilize the Bright Light Management System, a centralized lighting management, monitoring, and reporting software that offers scheduling capabilities, asset management information, and energy data analytics and reporting. The BLMS software saves customers up to 30% in additional energy savings through event-based scheduling and lighting optimization.
