Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 06, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Minneapolis, MN, June 6, 2018 - Edmentum, a global education leader and a pioneer in online teaching and learning solutions, is excited to announce its support of Project Unicorn, an education advocacy organization dedicated to the secure, controlled interchange of data within K-12 education. The partnership is the latest example of Edmentum’s commitment to data interoperability.

With support from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, InnovateEDU, a Brooklyn based non-profit, has been leading the Project Unicorn effort. The group is focused on improving the transparency of data interoperability in the edtech space and empowering districts to be smart consumers in their procurement of technology. Edmentum is one of 54 Local Education Agencies (LEA) and 55 vendors to pledge its support to Project Unicorn.
In addition to Project Unicorn, Edmentum has partnered with other organizations on data interoperability, including IMSGlobal, a leading non-profit dedicated to creating a set of common communication standards for edtech products. Edmentum is one of the only K-12 early adopters of IMSGlobal’s Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) Advantage and plans to update its Courseware product to LTI standards by November 2018.
Edmentum is also investing in IMSGlobal’s One EdTech Ecosystem (1EdTech) which consists of an edtech product interoperability registry and connection services which would facilitate connections between district systems and edtech learning application suppliers. The company joins HMW, McGraw Hill, Pearson and Renaissance as Phase 1 participants.
