Walter Camp Football Foundation and NFL Alumni Form Partnership

Walter Camp Football Foundation teams up with NFL Alumni to serve athletes & the community.


New Haven, CT, June 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced a strategic partnership with NFL Alumni (NFLA) to assist one another in their respective goals and interests. Both organizations are committed to assisting players lead their best lives on and off the field. This partnership allows both organizations to enhance their aligned mission to make a positive impact on the community and benefit local children in need.

Walter Camp Football Foundation is the caretaker of the nation’s oldest college football All-American team. The Foundation holds an annual All-American Awards Weekend to honor those players and other deserving recipients. The Foundation produces numerous events to raise money for children’s needs and other service organizations.

About Walter Camp Football Foundation

Walter Camp, “The Father of American football,” first selected an All-America team in 1889. Camp – a former Yale University athlete and football coach – is also credited with developing play from scrimmage, set plays, the numerical assessment of goals and tries and the restriction of play to eleven men per side. The Walter Camp Football Foundation – a New Haven-based all-volunteer group – was founded in 1967 to perpetuate the ideals of Camp and to continue the tradition of selecting annually an All-America team.
