St. Louis’s Finest Chefs to Cook, Meet and Mingle at Savor for Students Culinary Extravaganza

Non-Profit Tasting to Donate Proceeds to LIFT FOR LIFE ACADEMY Benefiting Area School Students

St. Louis, MO, June 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lovers of world-class cuisine have cause to celebrate this summer, as the second annual Savor for Students has been set for Thursday, August 30. Deliciously different from typical restaurant tastings, this culinary celebration will allow guests to interact personally with the region’s top-rated chefs, chatting with them and enjoying their cuisine, all while helping to raise urgently needed funds for area school children in need.

James Beard Award-winning and nominated chefs appearing at this year’s Savor for Students will include Gerard Craft (Niche Food Group), Kevin Nashan (Sidney Street Café and Peacemaker Lobster & Crab Co.), Jesse Mendica (Olive + Oak and Clover & The Bee), Ben Poremba (Bengelina Food Group) and Kevin Willmann (Farmhaus). Special luminaries joining the event for the first time also will include names like renowned chef Antonio Park of Park Restaurant in Montreal – ranked one of the top 50 restaurants in Canada.

Savor for Students will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on August 30 at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis. The event will feature tapas-style bites, sushi, sashimi, a raw bar, beer, wine, spirits and live music, all included in the $99 per person ticket price (plus ticket processing fee).

Savor for Students was conceptualized by Melissa Lee, Executive Chef for The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis and a supporter of LIFT FOR LIFE ACADEMY. Her invitation to the chefs was simple: “Please help us to make a difference in the lives of children in St. Louis. With your support, we can ignite the passion in these young hearts, and encourage and inspire them to pursue their dreams.”

LIFT FOR LIFE ACADEMY offers a private school atmosphere, where all programs and services are provided at no cost to students and their families. An important part of the LIFT FOR LIFE ACADEMY focus is nutrition. The school provides balanced, nutritious meals free of charge, five days a week, as part of its program. For hundreds of children, this is their only opportunity to have a meal each day.
