Acquisition will enhance Bar W’s Downstream Petroleum Services and fuel tank solutions operations in the Peace Country

Calgary, Alberta, Aug. 22, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bar W Petroleum and Electric Inc. (“Bar W”) a wholly owned subsidiary of United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Limited (“UFA”) is proud to announce the acquisition of all of the assets of All Peace Petroleum Ltd. (“All Peace”), head-quartered in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

The All Peace operations are focussed on downstream maintenance, calibration and construction as well as a tank sales, rental and mobile cardlock solutions business.

All Peace will be branded as “All Peace, a division of Bar W Petroleum & Electric Inc.”. All Peace represents a strong expansion opportunity for the existing Bar W operations, expanding its downstream maintenance, calibration services and construction footprint in northern Alberta.

“This purchase enables UFA’s Bar W business to be more competitive in the marketplace, providing downstream services and mobile tank solutions when and where our customers need them,” says Don Smith, UFA’s Vice President, Petroleum. “This allows our Bar W business to better service their customer’s and UFA’s petroleum networks with effective timeline maintenance services that increase end-customer service availability.”

“I am very excited about the agreement between Bar W and All Peace,” says Mike Brochu, former President and majority owner of All Peace. “For nearly 30 years All Peace has continuously strived to increase the ability to better serve our customers, this acquisition by Bar W will do just that.” Mike Brochu will stay on with All Peace, a division of Bar W Petroleum & Electric Inc. in a senior manager position.

“Northern Alberta is a critical geographical area as it pertains to petroleum related site maintenance,” says Carol Kitchen, UFA President and CEO. “All Peace presents an opportunity that will provide greater services for our UFA petroleum network as well as the Bar W business and ultimately benefit our members and customers in the Peace Country.”

Kitchen says UFA remains committed to investing in its network. “We have a responsibility to look after the needs of our petroleum customers, to be environmental stewards, and to make decisions that are also in the best interest of the Co-operative.  This acquisition allows us to do all of those things,” adds Kitchen. “Ultimately our vision is to be recognized as the most trusted and reliable supplier of petroleum, crop, livestock, building products and services in the markets we serve.”
