SECU Autism Clinic at ABC of NC in Winston-Salem Celebrates Grand Opening

RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Wednesday was a day of celebration for the SECU Autism Clinic at ABC of NC, as their grand opening drew a crowd of supporters to the Winston-Salem event.  The new clinic for children and young adults diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder is the first of its kind in North Carolina.  It was developed in partnership with ABC of NC and other organizations, including the SECU Foundation, which provided a $1.5 million grant in 2017 to boost the capital campaign efforts for the construction of the facility.

SECU Foundation’s Executive Director Jama Campbell spoke to the large group of attendees about the support from SECU members for the initiative, saying, “ABC’s strong commitment to providing North Carolinians with greater access to such unique and comprehensive autism services brings even more hope for families that their children will reach their full potential.  The member-funded SECU Foundation shares in this commitment.  We take great pride in helping ABC of NC further their mission through our grant for this facility, which will expand the reach and fill the growing needs for autism services in northwestern North Carolina and other regions.”
