Saatchi Art’s The Other Art Fair Brooklyn Announces Its Fall 2018 Artist Lineup and Programming

Feature Highlights Include Captivating Large-Scale Installations and Special Limited Edition Print By Emmy® Award-Winning Guest Artist Mike Perry

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Saatchi Art’s The Other Art Fair (“The Fair”), a leading international art fair championing emerging and independent contemporary artists, will return to the Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint, November 8-11. The Other Art Fair Brooklyn will showcase 130+ local and international artists whose works include sculpture, painting, photography and more. The Fair is also proud to introduce Brooklyn-based multimedia and Emmy® Award winning artist Mike Perry as its official Guest Artist.

Unlike exhibitors of traditional art fairs, which are typically comprised of galleries representing artists, The Other Art Fair’s exhibitors are the artists themselves, giving buyers unparalleled direct access to meet artists and learn about their work firsthand.

“Brooklyn is a vibrant location for our fair and we are always so inspired by the talent of the local art scene and the community’s passion to experience creative events,” said Ryan Stanier, founder of The Other Art Fair. “The one-on-one interaction with artists is invaluable and buyers are able to meet artists of all different backgrounds. Purchasing art is very personal and art can become an enriching part of one’s daily life. Connecting with artists as well as their works makes all the difference.”

Guest Artist Mike Perry is a Brooklyn-based artist, animator, creative director, brand consultant, poet and designer who also created the animated titles of Comedy Central's hit television show, Broad City. In support of Free Arts NYC, the official non-profit partner of The Other Art Fair Brooklyn, Perry will present a limited edition print sold exclusively at the fair throughout the weekend, titled “Lets Get Together.”

The Saatchi Art Talks Program, led by Saatchi Art’s Chief Curator and Selection Committee member Rebecca Wilson, will be hosted in the Saatchi Art Lounge at The Fair. In this engaging program, artists, collectors and cultural influencers will gather to discuss a range of topics relating to the emerging art scene and design, including a discussion on investing in art under $1,000.

Proceeds from the Private View on Thursday, November 8 will support Free Arts NYC, an organization that empowers underserved youth through art and mentoring programs to develop their creativity, confidence and skills to succeed.

Listed below are some of the highlighted features for The Other Art Fair Brooklyn.
