Melanie Ensign of Uber; Samir Jain of Jones Day and Dr. Andrea Little Limbago of Endgame to keynote the conference; ACSC to release results of new research and findings from collaboration defense simulation
BOSTON, Nov. 05, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On November 8th, The Advanced Cyber Security Center (ACSC), a regional collaborative building a stronger community defense to solve common cyber security problems across Massachusetts and New England, will bring together more than 200 cybersecurity executives and higher education leaders from across the region for its 8th annual ACSC 2018: Connect Conference. The agenda for this year’s Conference will focus on topics including workforce development, cyber maturity of organizations, and public policy and includes a powerful lineup of speakers.
Conference keynotes include Melanie Ensign, who currently leads security and privacy communications at Uber and previously worked on security communications at Facebook; Samir Jain, former senior director for cybersecurity policy for the National Security Council at The White House who is now a partner at Jones Day; and Dr. Andrea Little Limbago, Chief Social Scientist at Endgame, who researches and writes about the intersection of geopolitics and cybersecurity and directs the company’s technical content. An additional 20+ speakers will lead break out sessions and panels on subjects such as public policy, retaining talent, and communications.

Driving the conversation at the ACSC’s annual conference this year will be the results of two exclusive pieces of work — a regional Collaborative Defense Simulation held with 20 private industry and government organizations, and the ACSC’s Cyber+Boards research project on effective communications from chief information security officers to their boards of directors.
“The information collected from our Cyber+Boards research the ACSC conducted with security executives is valuable for gaining a much better understanding of how effective leaders are building executive coalitions around security concerns,” said Figueroa. “We are looking forward to sharing the results, and engaging in the discussions the study will no doubt spark at the conference.”
