UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education Announces Customizable Formats in Project Management Program

Students select from four learning formats for each course to meet schedules, goals

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 14, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education (DCE) announced today that their flagship Project Management Certificate Program will now feature four tracks for aspiring or experienced project managers. Students can mix and match from within the available tracks in order to build the program that best suits their needs and schedule.

Each of the tracks within the project management certificate program cover A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)—Sixth Edition, and will prepare students to sit for the Project Management Professional® exam. Whatever personal and professional demands they face, from course to course and quarter to quarter students will be able to choose the option that best meets their needs.

“Skilled project managers are in high demand right now, and the comprehensive, in-depth level of study that students receive in the project management certificate program will contribute to their improved career prospects,” said Stephane Muller, UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education director of Business Programs. “Our goal is to help project managers—new and veteran—to prepare for the next steps in their careers. Our customizable format selection is designed to allow them greater control over their education.”

The Project Management Certificate Program is comprised of the following course formats for students to choose from:

  • Campus—a six-week, face-to-face option scheduled on recurring weeknights; allows students to complete coursework both at home and online
  • Online—an entirely online option, courses run over six weeks, and students have regular weekly deadlines
  • Hybrid—features three on-campus, full-day classes scheduled on Saturdays; online access to course materials one week before the course begins
  • Global Accelerated—full-time, face-to-face, immersive experience; students learn alongside professionals from around the world

To receive the Project Management Certificate, students must complete four required courses for a total of 12 units in the campus, online, or hybrid formats. To receive the certificate through the Global Accelerated format, students must commit to three months of full-time study.
Enrollment for campus, online, and hybrid tracks is available for winter quarter now. Applications for registration in the Global Accelerated format are due by December 7 for winter quarter. For more information, please visit the website, or contact Chris Casas at chris.casas@uci.edu.
