Wellesley Sports Center Announces Deal With Dana Hall School

School to obtain rink surface naming rights and team locker room

WELLESLEY, Mass., Dec. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Wellesley Sports Center and its managing partner ESG Associates announced today that Dana Hall School will become an anchor tenant in the ice rink facility, as well as look to host Eastern Independent League (EIL) swimming and diving meets in the natatorium. Dana Hall is a Wellesley-based independent boarding and day school for girls in grades 5-12, placing emphasis upon sound academic education and the preparation of each individual for college and for life.  The school balances exposure to new ideas and the challenge of analytic and creative thinking with concentration on the development of self-esteem, leadership, and respect for others.

The Wellesley Sports Center, currently under construction in the heart of the Worcester Road corridor and less than 10 minutes from the Dana Hall campus, is slated to open early 2019. The Wellesley Sports Center will serve as a valuable resource to the town of Wellesley and surrounding communities, hosting local youth, high school and advanced programs in ice and sled hockey, figure skating, aquatics and turf programs, along with strength and conditioning and physical therapy components.

“I am excited to announce that Dana Hall will officially be joining us as an anchor ice partner in 2019 with locker room ownership, ice surface naming rights and facility advertisement,” said Wellesley Sports Center’s managing partner Brian DeVellis. “Partnering Wellesley Sports Center and its student athletes with Dana Hall affirms our commitment that this is truly a community resource for the town of Wellesley - built for both the residents and student athletes of Wellesley and the surrounding communities.”

“This agreement demonstrates our steadfast commitment to our student athletes and ensures that Dana Hall School’s ice hockey program has access to the same first-in-class facilities that our teams that compete on our Wellesley campus already enjoy,” said Dana Hall Head of School Katherine Bradley. “This strategic partnership elevates our ice hockey program and raises the profile of the school. I am looking forward to joining our families and fans in supporting our ice hockey team when they finally compete on home ice.”

Dana Hall now joins founding anchors Charles River Aquatics, Wellesley High School, Wellesley Youth Hockey, Wellesley Youth Lacrosse, Wellesley United Soccer and Wellesley Swim Association beginning in 2019. The Wellesley Sports Center will be available for use by local sports teams and organizations.
