“School safety has become one of the biggest concerns for educators, parents, and students,” said Eileen Shihadeh, senior vice president, Raptor Technologies. “It’s imperative for us as a community concerned with school safety to come together, share our learnings, and discuss a better path forward. Raptor Technologies is glad to be able to provide a vehicle to do just that through the Raptor School Safety Webinar Series.”

The Safe Schools for Alex foundation was initiated to support the creation of national school safety best practices and to establish a foundational school safety implementation model. Since the death of Max’s son, Alex, Schachter has been influential in driving policy change at the highest levels of U.S. government to improve school security and crime prevention. He is also helping lead additional commissions and committees of interdisciplinary members, politicians, and subject matter experts to drive consensus on challenging school safety issues and obstacles. Once the national school safety best practices are created, Safe Schools for Alex will issue grants to schools nationwide to assist in hardening their structures, so they can better protect themselves from these horrible tragedies in the future.
