Seatrade Cruise Global’s First All-Female Keynote Panel to Take Center Stage


NEW YORK, March 06, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Some of cruising’s top women executives and officers will take center stage for the first all-female keynote panel in the 35 year history of Seatrade Cruise Global – aptly titled: The Rise of Female Leadership in the Cruise Industry.

The line-up includes Christine Duffy, President, Carnival Cruise Line; Kate McCue, Captain, Celebrity Cruises; and Jan Swartz, President, Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia and will be moderated by Lucy Hockings, News Presenter and Anchor for BBC World News.

According to Chiara Giorgi, Brand Director, Seatrade Cruise Global, the panel, which takes place on Tuesday morning of Seatrade Cruise Global, “will showcase strong female leaders that are pushing the industry forward and present their unique perspectives on the state of cruise. This is an exciting step forward in the event’s history to have an all-female panel of such great caliber!”

In addition, the popular Professional Women in Cruising Brunch will be hosted in partnership with Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) and explore the latest trends and innovations in technology.

Entitled Technology and Cruising…in Some Unexpected Places the session will delve into how technology can be used to enhance environmental compliance, crew welfare and lifesaving and safety systems, as well as today’s modern cruise terminal design. Panelists include Alexandra Anagnostis-Irons, Founder and President, Total Marine Solutions (TMS), Tracy Murrell, VP Maritime Safety, DPA, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Lesley Warrick, Executive Director, Seafarers’ House and Anya Suriyaarachchi, Project Designer, Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Inc. The panel will be moderated by Anna Silva, Operations Supervisor, Port Everglades.

  • Carmen Morosan, Global Shore Excursions Manager, Intercruises Shoreside and Port Services, will participate in the Transforming Shore Excursions to Deliver Authentic and Exclusive Experiences (8 April, 10:00-11:00a.m.) session to illustrate tactical examples of how cruise lines are offering guests authentic and exclusive shore excursion experiences.
     
  • Barbara Muckerman, Chief Marketing Officer, Silversea Cruises, will provide a Seatrade Talk: The Future of Luxury Consumer (9 April, 3:15-3:30pm) and look at how brands can remain relevant in the ever-changing global environment of luxury travel and consumerism.
     
  • Carolyn Brown, Chief Content Strategist, Cruise Critic, A TripAdvisor Company, will moderate Attracting the Consumer of Tomorrow: Cruise Disruptors Speak Out (9 April, 1:00-1:45pm) and join the leading visionaries of cruise marketing as they explore the tangible ways the industry is working together to attract non-cruisers.
     
  • Sarina Bratton, Chairman Asia Pacific Deputy Chair, PONANT CLIA Australasia, will headline the session on Asia Pacific (10 April, 10:00-11:30am) and showcase how cruise lines can take advantage of the Asia Pacific region as the largest source market in the world.
