King & Spalding D.C. Office Bolsters IP Trial & Litigation Expertise with the Addition of Chris Campbell

WASHINGTON, March 11, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- King & Spalding today announced that nationally recognized intellectual property trial lawyer Chris Campbell has joined the firm as partner in its Trial and Global Disputes practice group.

“Chris has extensive trial experience in patent litigation and the technology industry, where his practice focuses on patent cases, especially competitor disputes. His addition is highly complementary to our IP team and fits with the firm’s trial-ready litigation practice,” said Kenny Steinthal, leader of King & Spalding’s Intellectual Property practice. “Chris’s first-chair trial expertise not only adds depth to our IP trial practice, but enhances our ability to counsel clients in the firm’s targeted industry initiatives, including technology.”

Campbell litigates cases across the technology spectrum, including medical devices, software, hardware and life sciences. He joins from Cooley, where former colleagues Jim Brogan and Tom Friel joined from last year.

In February, Campbell and his former firm’s trial team secured a jury trial win in Delaware federal court in a bet-the-company case, defeating Alarm.com’s infringement charge against SecureNet. Campbell has also recently achieved trial victories for clients Dycom, NexTag and Vistaprint in jurisdictions around the country.

“Chris brings elite patent litigation expertise to the office,” said Mark Jensen, managing partner of the D.C. office. “The recent addition of IP and corporate talent to D.C. fits perfectly with Chris’s arrival and with the firm’s continued IP growth strategy.”

“King & Spalding is a top-tier, go-to litigation firm, and its focus on technology, healthcare and energy made it an easy choice for me,” said Campbell. “I’m excited to be partnering again with Tom Friel, Jim Brogan and the entire litigation team.”
