Madison Investments & No Kings Collective Present UMBRELLA


Washington, DC, April 01, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A three-day pop-up with 15,000 square-feet of active art space showcasing nine art galleries with art installations to spotlight the commencement of Collection 14, a vibrant new mixed-use development project on 14 Street, NW.

WHAT:          Madison Investments, a family owned and operated real estate development firm located in the nation’s capital, is pleased to announce a partnership with No Kings Collective, a DC-based creative agency & events company, to celebrate the commencement of its landmark real estate project, Collection 14.  The event will encompass an entire city block to present a stimulating three-day pop-up from April 12-14. Nine art galleries will present vivid art installations spread throughout this important location of the upcoming Collection 14, which is activating the former Martha’s Table, Outfitters and Smuckers Farm locations at 2114 and 2120 14 Street, NW, 20009. It is here UMBRELLA will feature over 240 pieces of artwork by local artists: Kelly Towles, Naturel, Maggie O’Neill, Monochrome Collective, Washington Project for the Arts (WPA), Mark Kelner, Fabiola R. Delgado, PAKKE, Rock Creek Social Club, District Dodger, and JAB.  Guests can anticipate 15,000 square-feet of stimulating art space with multiple galleries situated around the property.  Visitors can anticipate the works to be compelling, diverse as well as colorful and irreverent.  All artwork will be available for purchase and priced from $250 to $3,000 per piece.  A portion of the art sales will be donated to Feed it Forward, a group of friends in the DC area helping those who need a little help.

WHY:             UMBRELLA is a celebration of the what’s to come of this legacy address which was formerly Martha’s Table, as well as its adjoining properties.  The aim of this three-day event is to bring the community together to revel in art and reveal Madison Investments’ plans for this mixed-use development, which is one of the largest landmark redevelopment projects in Washington, D.C. within the last decade. 

 

Within Collection 14, Madison Investments will present 25,000 square-feet of retail venues committed to promoting the arts, 5,300 square-feet of office space, 3,500 square-feet of event space along with an expansive 1,650 square-foot lobby.  Additionally, the plans include constructing 233 apartment units comprising 108,295 square-feet.  Tenants will find bright open floor plans with modern, sleek fixtures, stone countertops, blonde wood tones and a variety of innovative floor plans, some with balconies.  There will be 96 studio apartments, 52 one-bedroom junior suites, 41 one-bedrooms, 27 two-bedroom junior apartments and 17 two-bedroom units, with the size ranging from 362 square-feet to 967 square-feet.
