King & Spalding Adds Litigator Rachael Trummel to Chicago Office

CHICAGO, April 04, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- King & Spalding today announced that Rachael Trummel has joined the firm as a partner in its Trial and Global Disputes practice group.

Trummel’s practice focuses on class action defense and other complex litigation, and includes counseling and representing clients in the automotive, banking and financial services, consumer products, oil and gas, healthcare, real estate, and franchising industries.

“Rachael’s range of litigation experience and her network across industries in Chicago will help our growing office build deeper relationships with clients and the local community,” said Zachary Fardon, office managing partner and head of litigation in the firm’s Chicago office. “Rachael and Chicago partner Liv Kiser have worked together, so I am excited not only that Rachael is joining King & Spalding, but also that our partners are attracting other partners.”

Trummel earned her B.A. from The University of Chicago and her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. She joins King & Spalding from Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg in Chicago, where she was a partner in the firm’s Litigation, Financial Institutions, and Motor Vehicle practice groups, and served as the long-time head of the firm’s Diversity Committee and Recruiting Committee. Trummel is a sought-after speaker, and has recently spoken on topics including recent developments in TCPA litigation, the CFPB’s attempt to bar class action waivers in consumer arbitration agreements, website accessibility-related litigation risk, and privilege and work product issues for in-house counsel. She is also a member of numerous bar associations, defense counsel alliances, and mentoring, networking, and inclusion groups, including those supporting women, persons of color, and members of the LGBTQ community.

“King & Spalding is an exceptional firm and its litigation practice is a compelling platform, particularly given that the firm has top-notch experience and resources across a wide range of industries and the infrastructure necessary to handle large, complex litigation matters,” said Trummel. “The momentum of the Chicago office is exciting.  The firm’s commitment to professional excellence, collegiality, and community engagement is very important to me – and I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with Zach, Liv, and the other talented attorneys in the Chicago office and throughout the firm. I look forward to helping grow the Chicago office and expand the firm’s litigation practice here and across the country.”
