500 women rally together to build homes for Habitat for Humanity’s 10th anniversary of Women Build in the GTA

Over the course of 10 days, 500 women will don hard hats and swing hammers on a Habitat build site to give a hand up to families in need of decent, affordable housing.


Toronto, April 30, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On April 30th, Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area (Habitat GTA) will kick off their 10th annual Women Build alongside the event’s Presenting Sponsor, Benefit Cosmetics Canada. Over 50 Women Build participants will come together to launch the 10th anniversary of the event on April 30th, and help build the final 20 of 50 homes at the organization’s Pinery Trail Build in Scarborough’s Malvern community – Habitat GTA’s largest build site in its history. Women Build participants will spend the day building alongside each other and families that will be calling these houses their home. Since 2009, GTA Women Builds have rallied over 5,000 women to help build 85 homes and raise more than $4.5 million in support of families in need of a decent place to live.
