Sensata Technologies Holds Employee Day of Service

More than 450 Sensata employees from across the U.S. participated in the first of two Day of Service events planned for 2019 to support the communities where the company operates


SWINDON, United Kingdom, May 07, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sensata Technologies (NYSE: ST), an industrial technology company and a leading provider of sensors, today held the first of two Day of Service events planned for 2019. The annual employee volunteer day began in 2018 following the creation of the Sensata Technologies Foundation which was established to help support the communities where Sensata operates.

Sensata employees across the Company’s U.S. locations in Attleboro, MA, Bloomington, MN, Thousand Oaks, CA, Vista, CA, Carpinteria, CA and Everett, WA took part in volunteer activities including clothing drives, meal packing for food pantries, hosting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) events with local schools, beach and nature trail clean ups, service projects for childrens’ programs and camps, and assembling beds and bedding care packages for children in need. Employees selected service events based on what matters most to them.

Nationwide, over 450 employees participated in more than 35 different projects. In the Attleboro, MA area, employees assembled 95 beds and bedding care packages for children and families. Employees also donated clothing to Dress for Sucesss, held two STEAM events for underprivileged youth in Taunton, MA and helped build an outdoor classroom at Our Sisters’ School in New Bedford, MA. In Thousand Oaks, CA, employees helped pack 15,000 meals for food pantries, and in Bloomington, MN, employees built a community garden and packed 500 breakfast bags for children for the non-profit Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP). They also assembled 200+ STEM kits in for the non-profit Works Museum.
