Entertainment and pop culture will once again take over Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico Comic Con returns this weekend, now in its 17th year, with a wealth of international and local artists, and entertainment for the entire family


San Juan, Puerto Rico, May 15, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The weekend entertainment and pop culture fans have long waited for is finally here, as the 17th annual Puerto Rico Comic Con, the Caribbean region’s main entertainment event, gets underway. The event continues to elevate its value proposition for fans with a robust agenda that includes the participation of international and local artists and industry professionals, as well as other offerings.

Carrión also noted that, as in previous years, Puerto Rico Comic Con will showcase the latest from various branches of the entertainment world, including movies, TV series, comic books, videogames, animation, art, cosplay and more. The event is also an important promotional and professional platform for independent Puerto Rican artists and content creators.

"Pleasing our fans is a priority, so this year's event will integrate new dimensions, all designed to give geeks of all ages an experience like no other," said Carrión.

  • Robin Lord Taylor, best known for his role as The Penguin in the “Gotham” television series
  • Zazie Beetz, who played Domino in “Deadpool 2” and will also star in the upcoming “Joker” film
  • WWE® superstar, Bray Wyatt®
  • International cosplayer Yaya Han
  • Lucie Pohl, voice actor in the “Overwatch” videogame franchise
  • John DiMaggio, voice actor is TV series including “Futurama” and “Adventure Time”
  • Dan Parent, of the “Archie” comics
  • Young adult authors Becky Albertalli (“Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda”) and Kendare Blake (“Three Dark Crowns”). Both Q&A panels will be via live video chat
  • TiA & Kohei, Japanese musical performers
