Youth INC Welcomed Business Luminaries to its 12th Annual State of the Market Investor Conference


Event raised critical funds to benefit Youth INC’s work with 80 youth-centered nonprofit partners

Keynote Speakers included Oaktree Capital’s Howard Marks, 2020 Presidential Candidate John Delaney, and Rockefeller Capital Management’s Greg Fleming

NEW YORK, May 15, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Youth INC hosted its 12th annual State of the Market Investor Conference, which brought together luminaries in business and politics to discuss timely topics shaping the investing landscape. Since inception, State of the Market has raised over $4.5 million to benefit Youth INC’s network of 80+ youth-centered nonprofits that champion over 200,000 New York City kids each year. The 2019 Conference kicked off with a breakfast keynote from 2020 Presidential Candidate John Delaney interviewed by Michelle Caruso-Cabrera. This was followed by sessions on Impact Investing, Mobility, Cyber Risk, and CIO perspectives. The keynote lunch featured Howard Marks, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Oaktree Capital, interviewed by David Rubenstein, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Chairman of The Carlyle Group. New this year was a panel on professional sports team ownership moderated by NBA broadcaster Stephanie Ready. The conference was followed by a private dinner featuring Greg Fleming, Chief Executive Officer of Rockefeller Capital Management, and David Faber, Co-Anchor of CNBC's Squawk on the Street.

Rick Schifter, Senior Advisor of TPG Capital and Co-Chair of Youth INC’s National Advisory Board, opened the conference. “Today offers an opportunity for us to bring together business and political leaders to share their views on timely topics that are shaping the investment landscape,” he said. “The success of this event provides an unparalleled occasion where the business community comes together in support of New York City kids.”
