10,000 RUNNERS TAKE TO STREETS FOR CDPHP WORKFORCE TEAM CHALLENGE

Albany, N.Y., May 17, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- It was a picture-perfect evening in downtown Albany as 10,000 runners took to the streets for the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge. On the men’s side, Ryan Udvadia of Latham Pool Products took home his first win with a time of 17.36. The top female runner, Karen Bertasso of St. Peter’s Health Partners, defended her winning title and finished the race in 20.28. Congratulations to all of the runners!

Local Charities Win BigEach year, the race serves as an important fundraiser for two local charities, designated the race’s charities of choice. This year’s event broke records again and raised more than $47,000 for the Albany Damien Center and Family Promise of the Capital Region!

Capital Cardiology Provides On-Site Blood Pressure ScreeningsThe staff at Capital Cardiology provided blood pressure screenings for runners before and after the 3.5 mile race, a valuable service for those who participated. Capital Cardiology also generously donated $8,000 to this year’s charities of choice.

The CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge is organized by and serves as an important fundraiser for the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club (HMRRC). In addition to raising funds for local charities, the race also helps to fund HMRRC’s youth running programs, college scholarships, grants, and free running programs.
