MediaX Corp. Launches new On-line Marketing Campaign with Microsoft Windows Media Technologies

CULVER CITY, Calif., June 11, 1999 (PRIMEZONE) -- MediaX Corporation (OTC BB: MXMX), the award winning developer of new media content for entertainment companies and interactive satellite channels that is establishing a network of celebrity web sites including www.rodstewartlive.com, www.jbirdrecords.com, and www.Divinemusik.com, announced today the launch of streaming media and downloadable content using Microsoft's Windows Media Technologies.

Utilization of the Microsoft Windows Media Technologies audio codec and Rights Manager technology will help MediaX to create a large user database and digital listening and download station. The agreement also provides for placement on Microsoft Corp.'s highly trafficked WindowsMedia.com page to promote all MediaX web related events and promotions, including the upcoming live audio/video broadcast of R&B trio, Divine, on June 15th at LA's Key Club.

The use of the Windows Media Technologies audio codec (code named MS Audio) will significantly improve the audio quality of downloadable and streamed media available on all MediaX sites. The first step in this cooperation will be the player's placement and usage on Media X's entertainment network of celebrity sites including www.rodstewartlive.com, www.jbirdrecords.com and their Internet/e-commerce site www.amuZnet.com.

"We are extremely pleased to be working with MediaX," said Gary Schare, lead product manager, Windows Media at Microsoft. "As we seek new ways to enhance the musical experience for online consumers, it is important for us to work with promising independent new media developers such as MediaX in order to provide compelling content."

With more than 45 million Windows Media Players already in the public's hands and thousands more downloaded daily, MediaX can now count itself as one of the first entertainment based web site developers to showcase this technology. It is anticipated that MediaX will seek to further develop with Microsoft methods to enhance both its website functionality and online marketing on behalf of its artists and event sites.

"We are proud to be part of the Microsoft family," said Nancy Poertner, President at MediaX. "This alliance will enable us to drive traffic to our web sites and related events and will help us in attracting e-commerce to amuZnet.com."
