DALLAS, Jan. 6, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- American Realty Trust (NYSE:ARB) Thursday announced the appointment of Carey M. Portman, age 47, to serve as a director on the real estate company's board.
Portman is chairman, vice chairman and director of Commerce International Incorporated (USA) and Ltd. (London), a major supply and distribution company in the commodity trading business. He also serves as partner and director of Pathway International and partner and chairman of the board of Pathway Ltd.
Dallas-based American Realty Trust, Inc. owns a diverse portfolio of properties located across the United States, as well as interests in mortgage loans and stock holdings in real estate related entities.
