Ibbotson Releases Upgrades to EnCorr(tm) and Portfolio Strategist(tm) Software Suites

CHICAGO, June 20, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ibbotson Associates, the leading provider of asset allocation and investment knowledge and tools, today released a new version of its EnCorr analytical software suite and an update to its Portfolio Strategist investment planning software. EnCorr 8.0 provides new analytical capabilities, increased presentation flexibility and a broadened data platform. Portfolio Strategist 7.2 allows users to import and operate on portfolio holdings stored in Advent's Axys( portfolio management application.

"Based on feedback from our customers and our knowledge of the institutional marketplace, we've implemented enhancements to EnCorr that deliver to users more analytical tools, increased capability to visualize and present investment concepts, and more sources of investment data," said Jack Kreger, vice president of software product development. "The link between Portfolio Strategist and Advent's Axys is a strategic move for the company. Axys portfolio management software is a natural fit with our investment planning software so we worked with Advent to create a link between the products to make it easier for our customers to use them in tandem."

The capability to create and display multiple efficient frontiers on one graph tops the list of EnCorr's new analytical features. This option enables analysts to quickly and easily visualize the impact on a portfolio of adding and subtracting asset classes. Among other improvements, the software can now source data from Nelson's Institutional MarketPlace and the Altvest Trak databases as well as import mutual fund non-return data from the Morningstar and Wiesenberger databases. New data presentation options include the ability to easily prepare reports and presentations for the Web. Instructional videos on EnCorr's new features and capabilities have been packaged with the software, giving users a head start in using the new features.
