ONEIDA, N.Y., July 5, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Oneida Ltd. (NYSE:OCQ) today announced that Gregg R. Denny has been elected Chief Financial Officer effective immediately.
Mr. Denny, 43, will have executive responsibility for all financial operations of the corporation, encompassing all divisions and subsidiaries worldwide, with all senior financial officers now reporting to him.
As CFO, Mr. Denny will play a strategic role in positioning Oneida for its accelerating growth both domestically and on a global basis, including the Company's acquisition program and its overall strategic plan to become the world's most complete tabletop resource. He will also oversee the company's programs for investor relations and shareholder communications.
Mr. Denny's diversified business experience and financial expertise uniquely qualify him for this position. Most recently he was Vice President of Purchasing, following several years of outstanding service in two overseas assignments. As Managing Director of Oneida Australia, Mr. Denny was instrumental in expanding Oneida's businesses in the Pacific, and oversaw the acquisitions of Stanley Rogers and Westminster China. Before that, he was General Manager of Oneida's Sant' Andrea subsidiary in Italy, contributing significantly to the development of that international brand.
As a Certified Public Accountant with Price Waterhouse, Mr. Denny joined Oneida's accounting department in 1982, and rose to manager of Tax Corporate Planning and Assistant Treasurer. Following that, he became Financial Manager for Oneida Foodservice before undertaking his overseas assignments and subsequent return to the United States.
Oneida Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of stainless steel and silverplated flatware for both the consumer and foodservice industries, and a leading supplier of dinnerware to the foodservice industry.
