Comptek Receives $1.1 Million U.S. Navy Contract for Target Generator System


Buffalo, N.Y., August 9, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) - Comptek Research, Inc. (AMEX:CTK) announced today it has received a $1.1 million contract from the United States Navy, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, RI, to build and install an Electronic Support Measurement (ESM) Target Generator System.

The ESM Target Generator System is a high-power simulator capable of activating sensor operations on ships, submarines, and aircraft for test and training purposes. The ESM Target Generator System will be located at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC), Andros Island, Bahamas. Delivery of the system is scheduled for April, 2001.

"This system will provide the U.S. Navy with the unique ability to simulate modern threat radar systems in an open air environment for evaluation of Electronic Warfare systems, Electronic Support Measures systems, as well as data acquisition and processing to support these tests," said John Sciuto, Comptek chairman, president and chief executive officer.
