Harsco's Patterson-Kelley Unit Lands Major International Order

Nearly $2 Million Order is Patterson-Kelley's Largest Ever


HARRISBURG, Pa., May 2, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today that its Patterson-Kelley unit, a leading producer of commercial and industrial water heating equipment and powder processing equipment, has received its largest single order ever, a nearly $2 million procurement from Africa for specialized equipment that will be used to process plastics.

Patterson-Kelley Vice President and General Manager Richard Neuffer said the order joins a growing backlog within Patterson-Kelley's process equipment lines. Patterson-Kelley's comprehensive array of material blenders, dryers and mixing equipment make it a leading supplier to the pharmaceutical industry, as well as chemical and food processors. Neuffer said the company is receiving encouraging market response to its new MVP blending system, which solves some of the major issues facing commercial powder processors today, including sanitary material containment and flexible production. Patterson-Kelley is also recognized for its Compact(r) commercial and institutional water heaters, Thermific(r) boilers and its new Pulsar(tm) pulse oil boilers. Patterson-Kelley employs approximately 150 people at its East Stroudsburg, PA facilities.
