The Belimo Group, worldwide leader in the area of electric actuators for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, is currently building an annex to its premises in the Zürcher Oberland. The new wing will add about 22,600 square meters of office and production floor space to the existing building in Hinwil. The consistent growth of the Belimo Group calls for this extension.
In the new annex, research and development, logistics, production, distribution, and administration will be joined in a single location. Occupancy is planned for the fourth quarter of 2002.
At present, the Belimo Group operates seven locations in the pre-alpine part of the Canton of Zurich (Zürcher Oberland). This naturally grown, geographical distribution causes considerable extra costs due to materials handling, hampered communication, and a generally more demanding coordination.
The consolidation of locations in Hinwil will optimize communication and flexibility within the Belimo Group and thus improve the added value for employees, customers, suppliers, and shareholders.
All jobs will be maintained in this concentration of locations. Increased efficiency and productivity will be reinvested directly in the continuous expansion of the Belimo Group.
The new building will cover the spatial needs of the continuously growing Belimo Group (plans call for net sales to reach more than 400 million Swiss francs in 2005) cost-effectively and in keeping with needs.
The enlargement of the premises shall be executed in co-operation with ABB Immobilien AG. All architectural work was completed by Bob Gysin + Partner AG.
