Old Mutual plc Analyst Presentations on U.S. Activities

LONDON, Nov. 12, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Old Mutual plc (LSE:OML) is making a series of presentations from today until November 14 in Baltimore and Boston, on its U.S. business, to a group of institutional and stock-broking analysts, hosted by Julian Roberts, Group Finance Director.

Following the acquisitions of United Asset Management Corporation ("UAM") last year and of Fidelity and Guaranty Life Insurance Company ("F&G Life") this year, as well as the launch of the Americom Life and Annuity Insurance Company ("Americom") in May, Old Mutual now has firmly established businesses in the United States, under the leadership of Scott Powers, Chief Executive U.S. Asset Management and Guy Barker, Chief Executive U.S. life Assurance.

Since the closing of these acquisitions, Old Mutual has substantially restructured the businesses to create a significant capability for the distribution of savings and investment products in the U.S.

The presentations will provide an operational update on each of the businesses in the U.S., including Old Mutual U.S. Life, comprising F&G Life and Americom, and Old Mutual (U.S.) Holdings, which is the U.S.-based asset management business, comprising mainly Pilgrim Baxter & Associates ("Pilgrim Baxter") and OMAM (U.S.).

Slides of the presentations will be posted to the Website (www.oldmutual.com) together with a live audiocast of the presentations, where it will be maintained for at least two weeks.
