Penton Media, Organizer of Pocket PC New York Conference, Selects Joe Fung to Present Mobile .NET Solutions

HACKENSACK, N.J., Feb. 8, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ness Technologies, an IT professional services firm with operations in Hackensack, New Jersey and Dulles, Virginia, today announced that the company's Chief Technology Officer, Joe Fung, has been selected to speak at the prestigious, inaugural Pocket PC New York conference on February 20-22.

Mr. Fung, described as an "exciting and fast-paced" presenter, will provide a fresh perspective on the organizational imperatives, significant advantages and effective approaches to deploying mobile applications using .NET and the Pocket PC platform. Mr. Fung's presentation will target the issues relevant to both business decisions makers and senior technologists.

Joe Pagano, a Microsoft General Manager said, "Over the next five years, the ability to integrate - and react quickly to - information from disparate sources, will become a strategic priority. .NET, in conjunction with the Pocket PC, is the perfect platform to extend the enterprise and directly deliver complete information to the location where it matters most - the decision maker. Ness Technologies, as an exclusive Microsoft Partner, is uniquely positioned to provide thought leadership - and solutions - on this platform. We are especially pleased that Joe Fung has been selected as a presenter, given his deep knowledge of emerging mobile/wireless technologies."

The presentation will begin by introducing the key concepts and capabilities of mobile/wireless applications. Mr. Fung will then delve deeper into mobile/wireless architectures, highlighting opportunities to use Visual Studio.NET - and the .NET frameworks - to deliver wireless and mobile solutions across different architectures. During the presentation, Mr. Fung will explore such topics as "smart wireless applications," wireless synchronization using Wifi and 2.5G, and the extension of traditional backend data systems into the wireless world.

Mr. Fung's highly interactive presentation will include technology demonstrations that illustrate key techniques for creating mobile applications. Technologies demonstrated will include the .NET Compact framework, Mobile Explorer, C#, VB.NET, databases, and XML Web Services.

For the business decision-maker, Mr. Fung will discuss advantages and disadvantages of competing mobile technologies, trends in mCommerce, and additional third-party information resources. Mr. Fung firmly believes that "at the end of this presentation, the audience will have the foundation of knowledge sufficient to begin mobilizing an extended enterprise using advanced .NET tools."
