Bright Star Establishes Regional Field Office for its Tulameen Platinum Project

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 30, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Management of Bright Star Ventures Ltd (CDNX:BSV) is pleased to announce the lease of a former British Columbia Highways Department building in Coalmont, B.C. The building, located within 5 miles of all roads leading to mineral claims held by Bright Star Ventures, will serve as a regional field office, centralizing mobilization and significantly reducing costs of exploration. The facility will also serve to maintain a secure chain of custody for samples, including drill core, generated by the 2002 exploration program.

Comprising 2,000 sq. ft. of operating space with a fully fenced 2-acre yard and connections for electrical power, utilities, telephone and potable water, the building will provide secure space for logging and storing drill core and field samples.

BSV Management is also pleased to report that Bright Star's Vice President of Exploration, Bill Yeomans, is in the Grasshopper Mountain area of the Tulameen Project assessing current snow conditions. He estimates that snow cover should be melted by early May on the lower-elevation and south facing targets, including the Grasshopper Mountain platinum prospects.

Initial exploration will cover many of the targets located along logging roads servicing the Grasshopper and Olivine Mountain areas. BSV is also planning extensive exploration programs on new targets in areas of the property that may require additional infrastructure. Mr. Yeomans' initial appraisal will enable BSV to determine a budget for any extra road access work.

Bright Star has now acquired over 20 square miles of property, the largest-ever land position covering the Tulameen Ultramafic Complex, a historic mining area with many known Platinum Group Metal, copper and gold occurrences. An exploration program budgeted at $1 million for this field season will commence shortly.
