STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 7, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- IT security company Protect Data has received an order for further delivery of security solutions for Swedbank. The order makes it possible for another 150,000 users to connect to Swedbank's Internet service. - This is the result of a good collaborative climate between Protect Data and Swedbank, says Thomas Bill, CEO of Protect Data AB.
The security solution enables customers to authenticate themselves by simply typing a PIN on their token keypad to create a secure password for positive digital identity. Protect Data will initiate and prepare the tokens and will also handle their storage and distribution to local bank branches.
Swedbank's additional order for 150,000 tokens confirms the strength of the collaboration between Protect Data and Swedbank, dating back to 1996, in ensuring the bank's customers can confidently conduct financial transactions online.

The system is a flexible solution that can be used in most types of system where users communicate with central applications. The system has the advantage that it also works with an extremely large number of users, as is demonstrated by Swedbank, which has about 1.2 million customers connected to the Internet bank in Sweden. Furthermore, the user is not tied to one place, but can carry out his or her banking transactions from any computer with an Internet connection.
