eNature.com Announces Mobile Wildlife Guides with Rich Media for the Palm OS Platform

First Digital Media Authoring Tool for the Palm OS

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 27, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- eNature.com, the premier online nature resource, today announced plans to publish a new line of electronic field guides for the Palm OS(r) platform. Debuting at the PalmSource Open House, this line of applications utilizes a new digital media authoring system created by Tribeworks(r) (OTCBB:TRWX), a leading provider of next generation multimedia tools.

eNature's Mobile Wildlife Guides are based on eNature's award winning online field guide content which includes full-color photographs, bird audio, and descriptions of more than 6,500 North American species. By making eNature's search capabilities portable on a Palm OS handheld, nature enthusiasts can quickly and easily identify local plants and animals in the field. Particularly powerful for birders, the field guides will have bird audio capabilities.

"Rich digital media experiences are now possible on the Palm OS Platform," said Chris Krueger, President of eNature. "This opens up a new category of mobile applications. Finally, we will be able to take interactive nature guides with us wherever we go. eNature's content is the perfect complement to this new technology and we are excited to be among the first publishers to bring Palm OS users this amazing new experience."

Available by state, users will be able to download Field Guides for Birds, Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, Butterflies, Wildflowers and Trees. Coverage is for the continental United States, Canada and Alaska.

eNature is creating the interactive Mobile Wildlife Guides using a preview version of iShell(r) Mobile Edition the forthcoming version of Tribeworks' award winning multimedia authoring tool. This new edition of iShell features comprehensive support for designing and publishing interactive digital media for the Palm OS. On Palm Powered(tm) products eNature Mobile Wildlife Guides are viewed using an enhanced version of the Kinoma Player application from Kinoma. Kinoma Player is widely recognized as delivering the highest quality digital media on Palm Powered products.
